Contrary to what its name suggests, the Ponytail Palm is actually not a palm, but rather a succulent native to Mexico that grows into a tree and can reach over 50 feet tall. This plant is extremely low maintenance and easy to care for, needing only direct sunlight and water every 10-14 days.

Ponytail Palms make great outdoor plants, but they are not winter hardy and should be brought inside once temperatures dip below 55 degrees. Spring through Fall, your Ponytail Palm can be kept in Partial Sun, but make sure to not keep it in direct sunlight for long periods of time as the leaves can sunburn (Texas Zone 8). Water once your plant has had a chance to dry out, usually about once every 7-10 days with moderate temperatures.
