GROWING INDOORS

Alocasia Frydek has stunning, velvet leaves that can reach over 18 inches long. This particular species of Alocasia requires extra humidity, so a sunny bathroom or a spot next to a humidifier would be ideal. Make sure that your Alocasia is receiving bright, indirect light and is placed right next to the light source, as its foliage will reach dramatically for the sunlight if placed too far away. Water your Alocasia about every 5-6 days Spring through Fall, and about every other week in the Winter.

GROWING OUTDOORS

Alocasia will grow beautifully outdoors, but they are not winter hardy and should be brought inside once temperatures dip below 55 degrees. Spring through Fall, keep your Alocasia in Full Shade and make sure it is not receiving any hot, direct sun. Water once your plant has had a chance to dry out, usually about every 4-6 days with moderate temperatures. You may need to water your Alocasia every 2-3 days during periods of extreme heat.
