GROWING INDOORS
Despite what its name suggests, Pencil Cactus is actually succulent. This unique plant can grow to be over 30 feet tall, and will eventually develop trunks, making it more tree-like. Be cautious of the sap on the inside of this plant, as it can cause irritation to the skin. We recommend providing strong direct light for your cactus indoors and water every other week.
GROWING OUTDOORS
Pencil Cactus grow quite well outdoors and will do well in Bright, Indirect Light or Direct Sunlight. Outdoors, you will need to water your Pencil Cactus more frequently to avoid the plant get crispy. About once a week should be sufficient. If you happen to live in a drier climate that dips below freezing, you will want to bring your cactus inside until the following season.
